Environmental preservation is consistently carried out through an environmental management system, which includes planning, resource utilization, control, environmental maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
Environmental Conservation Program
Use of Environmentally Friendly Materials and Energy
The company continues to enhance environmentally friendly practices in its operational activities, including those as a developer and manager of areas. Programs to improve the efficiency of paper, electricity, and water usage are continuously promoted. Additionally, the consistent use of solar panels as a renewable energy alternative is actively pursued for optimization in new buildings within SCBD.
Environmental Cleanliness Control
The company implements the following environmental control systems and mechanisms:
a. Storage of hazardous waste (B3) in locations that meet environmental safety standards. The company ensures that all managed waste storage locations have obtained permits from the Environmental Department.
b. Waste separation based on categories (organic, inorganic, and B3) in the headquarters and managed areas.
c. Collaboration with the Waste Bank Induk for the management of separated inorganic waste.
d. Utilization of organic waste as compost fertilizer without chemical additives.
e. Implementation of obligations for liquid, solid, and hazardous waste processing for each SCBD tenant.
f. Reporting of these activities to the Environmental Department and the Company every three months.
g. Periodic monitoring every quarter of surface water quality, clean water, ambient air, and emissions from generators and operational vehicles in the SCBD area.
Green Open Space Maintenance
The maintenance of SCBD's Green Open Space is carried out as an effort to reduce air pollution from vehicle emissions. The company monitors bird arrival frequencies, supported by the provision of bird food scattered throughout the area. Bird arrival frequency monitoring is conducted to observe the bird population in the area, indicating air quality and ecosystem balance in SCBD.
Waste Bank
The Waste Bank program, as a follow-up to waste separation, has been initiated by the company and its subsidiaries since 2016. Besides assisting in environmental control, this program also serves as a community development initiative. Inorganic waste with economic value collected and sorted by the community is handed over to the Waste Bank of the Jakarta DKI Sanitation Department for recycling.
The company and its subsidiaries have conducted mentoring programs for Waste Banks in three neighborhoods: Selong, Pulo, and Cipete Utara. The mentoring program includes leadership training, benchmarking, support facility assistance, and motorized carts.
Environmental Issue Complaints
The company has provided facilities for environmental issue complaints to encourage the role of tenants, consumers, and the wider community in the environmental monitoring process. The community can submit complaints or feedback regarding environmental issues around the area through the contact information provided on the company's official website. Suggestions and complaints are then followed up by the relevant unit.
Environmental Certification
The company implements an environmental management system based on ISO 14001:2015, audited periodically. The company has also conducted an identification and risk management related to environmental pollution (Identification of Environmental Aspects and Impacts).
